A truly unusual specimen, consisting of a hollow tube of dolomite cast after some now-missing mineral, and coated with bright , sparkling rhombohedral calcite crystals. It looks just like a periscope! From the Nauke Oechslin Collection, purchased in Africa in the early 2000: a noted collection mentioned in Gebhard’s Tsumeb books.

A VERY choice specimen from this one famous pocket of calcite with included copper, that gives it a wonderful pastel green hue unique to my knowledge. The rough surface looks like sugar, brilliant and sparkly ! This is not a true species per se, but rather a varietal of calcite. Nevertheless, it is unusual stuff from a one-time find and the Sussmans seem to own two of what are regarded as the best small cab and cabinet specimens from the find. From Willy Israel: this pocket was found in june 1978 and even it was in the last week of that month

THIS SPECIMEN IS COMPLETE ALL AROUND, PRISTINE, and regarded as the finest large specimen from the pocket according to many people I have talked to. Nevertheless, it is unusual stuff from a one-time find and the Sussmans seem to own two of what are regarded as the best small cab and cabinet specimens from the find.
