T-110 Dioptase on Wulfenite with Molybdofornacite - $2000
Tsumeb, Namibia
Miniature, 6 x 4.5 x 3.5 cm

An unusual miniature with a sharp color contrast between a bright orange wulfenite crystal and the dioptase. The largest dioptase crystal, to the left of the wulfenite, measures 1.8 cm in size. The wulfenite measures approximately 2.5 x 2.2 x 1 cm in size and is heavily overgrown with dioptase. It is undamaged although there are a few small pockmarks on the wulfenite's exposed area where small dioptase crystals have been removed. 2 corners are visible poking out , as well as bits and pieces of the upper and leftmost faces of the wulfenite crystal. Wulf/Diop association pieces are uncommon and this is a very attractive example, in a good size and price range. You just don't even SEE such pieces, of any quality, but rarely! As a bonus, there is a rich area of microcrystalline Molybdofornacite on the backside , as confirmed by Gebhard and Sussman. and it is a rich specimen for this rare mineral. BETTER IN PERSON (shot with my old camera)!

T-113 Dioptase on Calcite - $950
Tsumeb, Namibia
Miniature, 5.5 x 5 x 3 cm

Lustrous, bright dioptase crystals to 1.5 cm associated with rhombohedral calcites in back. The calcites that show on the front are coated directionally by drusy dioptase microcrystals, which contrasts sharply and dramatically with the larger (darker-green) dioptase crystals. Some damage, but mostly on the periphery and base. BETTER IN PERSON (shot with my old camera)!
